Invention & Design Thinking

Design Thinking from 2 hours to 2 weeks

To give students a quick yet experiential understanding of Design Thinking, we can host an Invention Jam!

We strip away the complicated concepts and make Design thinking simple and fun in an action-packed 2 hours session.

Simply pick a theme, from fun challenges like designing a lollipop to impactful issues like disability inclusion or environmental sustainability.

We provide the worksheets, prototyping materials and of course our engaging trainers to deliver an unforgettable experience as the students go through the entire design thinking process from empathy/ discovery to testing/ delivering a presentation.

If time allows for more in-depth exploration of the themes and development of prototype, we would love to deliver a Design Thinking bootcamp which can range from 1.5 days to weeks.

Design Thinking + Game Design

Kids love games. What better way to draw their attention and engage them by letting them create their own games?

Depending on your learning outcomes, you can choose either:

  • Hands-on experience by upcycling physical materials like cardboard and paint to create carnival games, or
  • Digital-making experience using platforms like Scratch/ Makecode Arcade/ Minecraft

Students can focus on a social or environmental theme, making the game both fun and educational. They can then proudly showcase their games in a carnival for their peers at school or members of the public community to play!

Design Thinking + Nature

Biomimicry is the conscious emulation of nature’s genius.

Nature has evolved over billions of years, always moving towards balance between all the inhabitants of spaceship Earth, and can serve as a source of inspiration to help us tackle sustainability challenges.

We realised students pick up the concept of biomimicry fairly quickly when provided with examples and a framework.

Biomimicry can be easily incorporated in the design thinking process before ideation. It can also enhanced with nature tours and links well to biology concepts like ecology and evolution for academic reinforcement.

Design Thinking + Futures Thinking

In a fast-evolving world, traditional methods will soon be outdated.

Futures Thinking teaches students to create multiple future scenarios to inform present decisions.

When paired with Design Thinking, they can address emerging needs using new technologies and trends, resulting in innovative, future-ready solutions.

Students will walk away with more confidence in their ability to shape the future!
